History

Durgapur Projects Township Boys'High School is one of the well-known Higher Secondary School in the district of Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal.The school has been keeping up its well deserved reputation of quality education under the guidelines of the education department of the government since its inception.

 The school was established as an unaided institution of the West Bengal board of secondary Education, with two classes (vi &vii) in the old hospital building of The Durgapur Projects Limited at D.P.L. township, Durgapur - 713202 in 1986. As per agreement with the government and board , the financial liabilities of the school were borne by the Durgapur Projects Limited in two phases , initially upto 1989 for the junior high school and then for the upgraded section (ix & x ) of the school for ten years from 1989 - 1999.Since the agreement with D.P.L had successfully been over in 1999, the goverment of West Bengal started bearing the financial liabilities of the entire school.At present D.P.T.B.H.S is a W.B.B.S.E & W.B.C.H.S.E recognized aided school of the Government of West Bengal.

     If the yardstick of a schoool is performance D.P.T.B.H.S is no doubt an inspiring one.The results of the students in the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations are consistently appreciable.Every member attached with the school are leaving no stone unturned for the betterment of the students.One of the students of this school ranked second in the Madhyamik Pariksha 2007. Humdreds of students of the school are now well established in the country and abroad.

At present there are 338 students , 19 Teachers and 6 non-teaching staff in the school. The school have well equipped laboratories  and a well furnished library for the students to be utilized for better learning.

The school has a Glorious history of organizing cultural programmes, science exhibition, sports e.t.c. The relevant students can avail themselves of numerous Govt. schemes and scholarships.
