History

History of our School.

The name of our school is Asansol Free Primary School ( Asansol  F. P.  School ). We are proud that the word “Asansol” is associated with our school. our Asansol Free Primary School established in 1956. The school was formerly one of the primary school included in Asansol Municipal School. At present the school is run by the Paschim Bardhaman Primary School Council under the Govt of West Bengal. The school belongs to the Hirapur Circle. It is heard that the school was started with one room in other place. At present the school is being run in the morning with some room in the compound of Asansol  Chelidanga High School in ward no- 51 of Asansol Municipal Corporation. Our school has no own building, office room and head teacher room. Our school is the oldest school in the region of New Upper Chelidanga, Court More, Sripally, Dhrub Danga, Rabindra Nagar, Dharma Pally e.t.c. At present, students come from far and wide with high hopes in addition to the nearby areas. At present children are taught from class Pre- Primary to class IV. At present the the number of students is 273. Girls student used to study here but now only boys study here. The total number of teachers are 8. The school is located in chelidanga ( near Court ) on S. B. Gorai Road. The government provides Cooked Mid-day Meal, free Textbooks, clothes, and ocassionaly shoes from Pre-Primary to Class IV. The minority students (class-I to class- IV) are monetarily supported (like scholarships from govt) through banks. In addition, monetary support is provided by the government for expenditure in various sectors of our school development.
