
Bengali Girls' Day School
The Methodist Episcopal Mission in Asansol Town was established as early as 1872 by Rev.W.P.Byers on 1.17 acres land for the "Mission House School Building" .
It is an oldest School in Asansol from the time when was called " PURANA KUTHI " and then later on the name was changed to " Bengali Girls' Day School ".
Miss.Rachel Carr's dedication and hard work developed the School. Then many Indian Missionaries took up the work.
Provsional recognition granted from 1st January 1965.
After that came a new Head Mistress in 1976 Smt. Bharati Mukhopadhyay as a first Govt. employee. She struggled for the upgradaton of the School .
At last 1980 class VII (Junior High School) and year 2000 class X (Madhyamik) was recognized and then she retired from her srvice.
On 2015 Smt. Susanna Soren (Head Mistress) and Smt. Binodini Soren (Secretary) brought recognition for Higher Secondary Section .
