History

Before Independence there were a few School in Asansol. "Sree Hari Pathsala " is one of them. After Independence it was runned in the same name as a private school. In the year 1966 the land was donated by Sri Nilkantha Roy in the memory of his father "Fatick Chandra Roy " . 15th of August 1968 the building was opened by the former Chairman of Asansol Municipality "Gopi Krishna Roy " and from 1969 it was managed by the Asansol municipality in the name of "Fatick Chandra Roy Memorial Municipal School ". In 1998 DPSC,Burdwan took over the charges, since then it is running with goodwill in the name of "FATICK CHANDRA ROY MEMORIAL FREE PRIMARY SCHOOL " . Students of this school were established in many sectors of the society with pride.
