History

Asansol is known for industries - and one of them was a cycle factory (Biggest cycle factory of Asia at that time) established by SUBIR SEN way back in 1951.He along with cooperation from Raleigh factory established a small township called Senraleigh 12 KM away from main Asansol City. Senraleigh had a glorious past of education,sports and above all cultural activities.The small township soon became the epicentre of Drama,Recitation around the City.To impart Education and higher studies specially for the Girls the management of the factory realised that there is a need for School.In the year 1967 The School was born as a Co Educational Secondary School(It got Higher Secondary recognition from Dept.,of Education, West Bengal Govt in the year 1999) That time there was no High School in the region. After setting up the school, students of not only Senraleigh but of entire asansol obtained the opportunity of higher studies. Starting from Fifth standard, students are able to study up to twelfth standard in this school(All the three streams,i.e., Science,Commerce and Arts are available).

A fifty years of existence of Kanyapur High School(H.S.) was marked in 2017 through a jubilant Golden Jubilee celebration.
