
Arya Kanya Uchcha Vidyalaya ( H.S ) is set up and managed by Arya Samaj Asansol. It was established on 14th August 1963. It was recognised and affiliated by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in the year 1967. Classes from V to XII are held in this school.
In the year 2002 the school came under the guardianship of the present committee and the leadership of our honorable Secretary Shri Jagdish Prasad Kedia. Under his genius and able monitoring the reconstruction of the building started and the developmental works reached new heights. There were only 250 students in the academic year 2002. There was a huge scarcity of passionate teachers and a dire need of non teaching staff members. The building of nearly 15000 square feet was in dilapidated condition. During the reconstruction the building was increased to an area of 30000 square feet. The building named as Swami Shraddhanand Bhavan was completed in the year 2007.
The total campus area of the school is of five bighas. The school is a three storey building with 10400 square feet of floor area covering each. The school building and its campus is equipped with modern amenities and facilities such as the huge and spacious auditorium, computer room, laboratory, guest room, library, three generators of 30 Kw each and CCTVs. A sole and beautiful yagyashala is amidst the exotic garden. Presently 1500 students are learning in the school. Every year the board results vary from the appreciated 96% to 100%. In the year 2014 this school was acclaimed as a 'Sarwashrestha Vidyalaya' of the Burdhaman district. The students feel extremely proud and honoured to be a part of this institution. The school which has widely won appreciation in West Bengal deserve special mention of eminent personalities of the committee such as Late Kedarnath Daruka, Late Bhrigunath Prasad Bhagat, Late Nathmal Khaitan, Late Motilal Kedia, Late Khubalal Shaw and other comtemporary members whose untiring efforts and spontaneous deal played a major role in laying the foundation and establishment of the building. Nevertheless Smt. Uma Pandey the former head mistress of the school is worthy of applaud and appreciation for her untiring efforts that led the atmosphere and results of the school again reach the impressive heights.
