History

The journey of the school began about six decades ago when the common citizens of the Subhaspalli area in Burnpur felt a strong need to set up a school in the neighbourhood. The local civic body under the aegis of UNNAYAN SAMITI worked tirelessly in this direction and finally the school came into existence in the year 1964. In 1966 it was upgraded to Class VIII and in 1969 it became a secondary school. Since then there has been no looking back. The year 1987 is a milestone moment in the history of the school. It was upgraded as a Higher Secondary institution with two branches of study - Arts and Commerce. With the dawn of the new millennium the Science stream was introduced and in 2006, computer education was incorporated into the curriculum. Since that same year all academic and administrative works started to become computerised. In a word, our school is the pioneer in this region in terms of having a fully functional modern computerised education set-up. The golden jubilee of the school was celebrated in 2014 throughout the year with due splendour. Every year our students come out with outstanding results in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations. Our students also keep excelling in various other fields like - Yogasana, Mime, Youth Parliament Competition, Quiz and Fine Arts. The successes of the institution lies in the strong bonding and understanding among students, teachers/ non-teaching staff and guardians. We have many more miles to travel.....
