After independence in the year of 1948. there was no school in Bartoria village. The students of this village had to go far away Fatehpur and Narsamuda villlage for their schooling. At that time the roads were not very well, so many students were afraid to go to school. In that situation some self-volunteers people- Gopal Das, sadhucharan Mishra, Abhaycharan Mukherjee, Natabar Mondal, Haremdranath Mondal decided to build a school in their own village. They took the initiative and started the construction of school building in full swing. Initially bricks were brought from a nearby brick factory to form a classroom measuring 30 feet long and 15 feet wide. The roof was made of clay tiles and windows are open. Thus began the journey of this school. First Managing Committee of the school was- President: Mathan ch. Mondal, Secretary: Panchu gopal chatterjee, Members: Abhay charan Mukherjee, Gopal Das, Sadhucharan Mishra, Durga Das Maji, Atul Das, Harendranath Mondal. First teacher of this school was Biswanath Maji. At that time he was not a govt teacher. At the request of the villagers, he started teaching the students of the school. Later the members of the managing committee filed a joint petition to the Asansol S.D.O office for converting the school into govt aided school. In the year of 1955 Bartoria pry school was officially recognized by District primary Board and first govt teacher was shri Biswanath Maji.
