Sadar Govt. High School, Cooch Behar was established in 1831 as one of the oldest schools of the North-East India. The School, which was earlier known as"Sadar Model School" and " Sadar Middle English School" is bearing the rich heritage of 187 years.spreading the light of Education in Cooch Behar and neighbouring districts for long. This being the oldest Govt.School among the four of its kind in the city, has pioneered in the elementary education of most of the local educated men since establishment. None of the old School buildings exists now and new multi-storied structures have been raised by the Govt. to cope with the demand of increasing number of students now-a-days
