A GREAT LEGACY

          Naihati - Garifa - Gouripore is densely populated industrial area mostly comprising of Hindi, Bengali and Urdu speaking population, But in this industrial area there prevailed extreme illiteracy and ignorance amongst the working class population in absence of Bengali, Hindi & Urdu medium primary schools. As a visionary and champion for cause of Education with missionary zeal Late Dinanath Shaw founded so many near about 25 nos. of Hindi, Bengali and Urdu primary schools and also established secondary schools of Hindi medium and got recognised from the Education Department of Govt. of West Bengal.

            Under extreme adverse situation Vidya Vikash High School was established by him in 1970 to impart education for Hindi and Bengali medium students and also dreamt of Urdu medium High school for Urdu medium students. During his life time inspite of his sincere efforts he could not succeed in getting recognition of the school

            The founder family of Vidya Vikash High School started its journey in the field of education and carried forward the task ahead left by Late Dinanath Shaw after his untimely demise on 31.07.1992 befitting his services and dedication towards the spreading of Education. On the endeavour of Sri Ranjeet Kumar Shaw, the dignitary of founder family, Vidya Vikash High School was recognised by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education & aided by the Govt. of West Bengal vide its memo no. S/4 dated 11.01.1994 straightway as a X class high school (V to X) with co-education and upgraded upto higher secondary level i.e. 10+2 by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education vide its memo no. …………….. dated ………………… and permission was secured from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and Urdu classes were introduced as first language in the school

            The newly constructed magnificent building in a separate campus is dedicated to memory of Late Dinanath Shaw and remaining grateful for his noble deed for the spread of education and his dreams will guide members of founder family of Vidya Vikash High School on the journey to spread education as a legacy for the generations to come.
