Hooghly collegiate school at Chinsurah, in the district of Hooghly is a famous and historical educational institution in West Bengal. It is known from the quotation of Fisher’s memories “In 1817 the existence of a small school attached to the Imambarah was reported.” So it can be stated that this school was there during the year 1812 & it was further confirmed by the educational report of Sharp Saheb and form the source ‘History of Hooghly’ by Sudhir Kumar Mitra.
