Found in 1932, BELEGHATA DESHBANDHU HIGH SCHOOL BRANCH,once had the reputation of being the largest school in Asia with a whooping student strength of over 6000.In 1968,it was bifurcated into two separate units -one 'Main' and the other 'Branch',the name of the school remaining the same.Named after the well known freedom fighter Deshbandhu
