Managing Committee

School Management Committees (SMC) have been made mandatory for schools under the RTE Act of 2009. This is constituted in all elementary schools in the State to ensure the community and parents are involved in bringing schools quality education at an affordable price. SMCs are already constituted as per state RTE Rules.

School Management Committees have to play a crucial role in awareness and participation especially parents in school development activities. It has to work to create a conducive learning environment in the school, ensure active involvement of Civil Society Organization, putting in place an institutional mechanism for constant dialogue at the community level. The positive trend of enrolment and retention at the elementary level, the involvement of the community in school development activities, proper utilization of grants, organizing co-scholastic activities for children, initiating Social Audit etc. are few indicators that reflect the efforts made in this regard.
