SANAT ROY CHOWDHURY INSTITUTION FOR GIRLS was established in the year 1961 . It was an massive initiative on the part of Late Sanat Roy Chowdhury who is the father figure in setting up this school . His nephew  Late Sail Kumar Roy  Chowdhury , Late Rakhal Sarkar and some distinguished personalities realized his dream of setting up this school for the spread of education in this area which is till date socially and economically backward . It was very beneficial to the people of this area . To initiate the work of teaching and learning , the Roy Chowdhury family donated chairs , tables , almirahs , accessories for games and sewing classes . A lot of inspiration from a number of people has built up this school . The girls section suffers from lack of space as it is difficult to accomodate so many girls in the class rooms available . Funds from SSM has enable to solve this problem partially after the construction of two extra rooms . SRCI FOR GIRLS is always active in executing all activities along with formal education and this has made the girls section very popular among the masses .
