Teachers may provide instruction in literacy and numeracy ,the arts ,civics,community roles or life skills .
Formal teaching tasks including preparing lessons according to agreed curricula ,giving lessons and assessing pupil progress .
A teachers professional duties may extend beyond formal teaching. Out side the class room teachers may accompany students on field trip, help with the organization of school function and serve as supervisors for extracurricular activities . In some education system, teachers may have responsibility for students discipline.
