The post of HM is a challenging one which can hardly challenge anybody, but is always at the risk of being challenged. The mistaken notion that the HM will have to remain responsible for everything-good or bad-that happens in school is at the root of all evils. In consequence, some salaried stakeholders want to pass a very carefree time. The importance of education in school is waning with the advent and increase of socio-economic works in school. Students and guardians cherish more interest on socio-economic benefits than o educational matters. As a result, conscious guardians moves to private schools with their wards. These augur ill for Govt.-sponsored Schools.
