Some forword-looking people of this area felt a setting up a school promoting education here which is at the root of all development - social, economic,cultural and aesthatic . hence this school was established in 1954 on a plot of bighas of land donated by Mr Kishori mahan Mandal in memory of his father late Gangadhar Mandal. Gangadhar was incorporated in the name of this mark of honour and respect to him. The school was started by some organising teachers the services of whom ware approved by the competent higher authority. The School got recognition of WBBSE in 1965 as a 4 class Gr. high school. In 1996 the school was recognized as a 10 class high school. The school was recognized as a H.S. instition in 2014 byWBCHSE with Arts and Science.
