Surul Junior Hogh School is a Bengali medium co.. educational upper primary school situated at Sriniketan, Birbhum, West Bengal.  It is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.  The school started its journey on and from 15.09.2009. with 5 students and a single teacher in the premises of the adjoining primary school. The foundation stone of the school was laid down on 24.04.2010 on the piece of land donated by the Sarkar family of Surul village of Sriniketan. At present the school has 127 students,  5 teaching staffs and 1 non teaching staff. The school provides a learning atmosphere that caters to an all round development of the students.

The school is located at the heart of Sriniketan. The school is surronded by concrete walls on all sides. The total land area is about 0.45acres. Besides the L.. shaped school building, the school kitchen there is a small playground where children play during recess. Sports and other school functions are performed in this playground

History... The people of Surul village felt the need for establishing a high school in their locality as the nearest high school was about 2 to 2.5 kms away from the village. Their endeavour succeeded and the WBBSE gave the affiliation on 01.05.2008. to establish an upper primary school in Surul. After teacher recruitment classes started from 15.09.2009. with a single teacher and 5 students in the primary school nearby. The Sarkar family of Surul village donated land and the school was constructed.
