It gives me immense pleasure to write on the Rajibpur Anglo Vernacular High School website as the first Headmaster as well as an alumnus of this prestigious institution. Our school is one of the primitive schools of West Bengal, with a great heritage of 157 years. The school was established in 1864 – the foundation of this school was laid by the then zamindar, Ramsundar Ghosh Rai Bahadur for imparting education in which teaching was conducted in both English and Bengali languages at Rajibpur, North 24 Parganas. Ramsundar Ghosh Rai Bahadur and his family provided evidence of their love for education through self-less contribution of land and money for its smooth establishment and maintenance. I salute Ramsundar Ghosh Rai Bahadur and his family for their generosity and immense interest in education.

The congenial atmosphere of the school and the ideal behavior of its teachers inculcated in the minds of the students the ideas of greatness, sanity of outlook, strength of spirit and sense of responsibility which are the features of a cultured mind. Objective of our teaching–learning process is to make a learner more tolerant, logical and of course, a rational human being. Our periphery is not limited within the boundary of the school premises but extends to society to communicate its accumulated knowledge, values and skills from one individual to another or group of people. They are enriched with different socio-cultural programmes along with education which is the manifestation of perfection reflect through their well establishment in later life. Performances of our non-teaching staff are also very conducive for up gradation.
