Howrah Deshbandhu Balika Vidyalaya believes in Swamiji's ideal of "BE and MAKE"
OUR school is a friendly, welcoming school where students are happy and enjoy learning.

We are very fortunate to have the excellent Teachers who not only have vast knowledge of their respective subjects but also very much helpful and cooperative with the students.

We not only impart bookish knowledge to the students but also always care for their overall developed development. Our motto is SIMPLE development of all the students:
*S* - social development
*I -* intellectual development
*M* - mental development
*P* -physical development
*L* - logical development
*E* - emotional development.
To help our students' overall development
We provide them with regular computer classes, karate classes, mental hygiene /moral studies classes, hand work and social awareness classes, music and drama classes, painting classes, recitation classes and many more.
We always encourage their extra curricular activities like painting, singing ,dancing , recitation, oration etc.
Together we celebrate various cultural programs throughout the year like Independence Day, Republic Day, Rabindra jayanti, Basanta Ursav, Netaji' birthday, Gandhiji's birthday, National youth Day on Swamiji's Birthday, Rakhi Bandhan utsav etc and of course the grand Saraswati Puja an annual sports day.
Going for Educational excursion is important for students, so every year we arrange at least two such excursions for them.
The basis of our motto Be and Make is on the theme ‘Dream It. Believe It. Achieve It’ is aspirational:
Dream it: This is about having goals and visions to progress oneself in life.
Believe it: Believing your goals and visions are possible. Making a plan of action to achieve it.
Achieve it: Committing to and taking positive action to achieve your goals and then reflecting on the journey.
Our school also have active *Consumer Club* for students to make them aware of the consumer acts, *Eco club* for making them aware about the environment, we also have *District legal service Activities club (DLSA club)* to make them aware of the basic laws and legal rights for their own protection as well as to develop them as responsible future citizen.
During this covid-19 situation we are providing our students online education the Telegram app, telephonic conversations , audio video classes and YouTube links.
We keep motivating them to study well and stay healthy in this trying situation.
