HDBV : 75 years of Women Enlightenment 

2nd January 1945. In the benign presence of Guardian Angels like Sri Tarapada Mukhopadhyay, Sri Bibhuti Mukhopadhyay, Sri Ajay Basu, Sri Nikunja Laha,Sri Nirmal Kumar Dey to name a few, a small institution was set up to accelerate the spread of women education in Howrah. In course of time, that philanthropic mission metamorphosed into today's structure  HOWRAH DESHBANDHU BALIKA VIDYALAYA. This school, affiliated in 1949 and upgraded to H.S level in 1997, now inculcates education in all streams namely Science, Arts And Commerce. . Our school follows the legacy of teaching with ultimate care where teachers and students share a very loving bondage among themselves. The introduction of classes on Ehical values proves to be reformative in  nurturing student psychology properly. Karate classes not only ensure the physical fitness of the children but also help in safeguarding their physical and mental security in the society as well. Mid day meal programme is regularly conducted under the strict vigilance of the teachers. The school office and other affairs are smoothly run by a group of competent staffs.Our students take part in various social activities and competitions and often come out in flying colours thereby keeping the reputation of the school intact.In fact we all are the members of a close knit family headed by our beloved Headmistress whose love, dedication and farsightedness pave the path to success towards a better future. . This year  in 2020,we are proudly celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of our school with mirth and reverence. Following the footsteps of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das who was the ultimate epitome of truth,courage and patriotism, we expect to usher in a brighter,nobler and more promising era in the history of HOWRAH DESHBANDHU BALIKA VIDYALAYA
