Welcome to The A.P.Department Calcutta Madrasah website!

FROM THE HEADMASTER’S DESK

The School Website is a platform to showcase the literary and creative activities of its family members. While nurturing the potential of our young learners, I would like to urge, the Parents to inspire their children to whole-heartedly participate and excel in the various activities of the School, both scholastic and non-scholastic.

Calcutta Madrasah, Anglo-Persian Department can rightly boast of its glorious past. Ever since its inception in 1854 till the independence of the country, this institution gave results to be proud of and produced many brilliant students who excelled in the different fields of life world over, and made the institution a much-cherished centre of learning. But merely boasting over the past is not enough. We have to bring back the glorious past. This should be the motto and mission of all of us –– Teachers, Parents, Students and the Alumni. Our endeavour is to “encourage excellence” in all spheres of life, while preparing the students for the competitive environment to face the latest challenges. The excellent infrastructure at present, after shifting in the new six-storey building, and highly inspired and motivated teachers armed with the latest training in the field of pedagogy and active co-operation from the Department of Education, Govt. of West Bengal,we are looking forward to a bright future.

In the words of William Arthur Wart, author and teacher, “The mediocre teacher tells; the good teacher explains; the superior teacher demonstrates; but he great teacher inspires” our learned teachers believe in inspiration by their training and guidance.

By blendingour rich cultural tradition and modern education,we are training and carving the young minds with the help of the enlightened staff and supportive parents hand in hand.Knowledge combined with guidance can spell success. Hard work is the key of success. We take pride in carving the citizens of tomorrow who would certainly be victorious from all walks of life. Our students have brought accolades in the various Debate and Quiz contests.

The success lies in the following principle which all of us should follow:

Do more than you belong ——— participate;

Do more than you care   ——— help;

Do more than you believe ——— practise;

Do more than you think   ——— work.

Let’s pledge to strive together for a bright and successful future for our students.
