Dhakuria Ram Chandra High School was established in 1937 at Dhakuria in South Kolkata. From a very humble beginning, it has slowly but surely grown like a tall tree. Presently, a Bengali medium H.S. school, it has served the people of Dhakuria and adjoining localities for the past eighty or more years.

      A Nation cannot prosper when a big part of its population remains under the darkness of ignorance. Proper education can only bring the change we aspire for. School is a place where with various interactions; a young mind starts to take its shape. In today’s rapid changing modern world, the role of the school in a young man’s life has become more crucial. The school makes the student aware of the necessity of standing on the firm ground of values, yet gives him freedom and inspiration to express and expand himself fully.

     We the teachers, staffs and students work at Dhakuria Ramchandra High School together as a team. We firmly believe our efforts bring positive change. Every student has great potential, it is only a matter of rigour to bring that to the fore. The numerous students, past and present, are our pride. In many cases, they have conquered various obstacles in their life- financial and others. It is our pride and satisfaction when they fondly declare that their school had a role to play in their development.

     I also pay homage to the teachers and staffs who have taught and worked here during the period of last eighty or more years and are instrumental in building up the legacy of this school. The students who have studied here are serving the society to the best of their capacity, I congratulate them.
