The school had been established on 2nd January, 1957.First affiliated as 2-Class on 31.03.1960,4-Class on 26.07.1962,10-Class on 25.02.1965 and HS upgradation on 09.02.1915.At present the total number of students srength in our school is 1329(V-175,VI-210,VII-193,VIII-156,IX-205,X-211,XI-86 & XII-93). The total number of permanent teaching post is 28(Twenty Eight) and non-teaching staff is 3(Three). The vacant teaching post is 10(Ten) and non-teaching post is 1(One).The number of para-teacher is one and two contructual teachers for VIII+ Level vocational course and one for computer teacher.The school observes for every year. The following observation days such as School foundation Day, Netaji Birth Day,Nabin Baran ceremony, Republic Day, Saraswatipuja, Rabindra Jayanti,The Independance Day,Teachers Day and Sarodotsav, ect.The annual sports , Prize Distribution ceremony with cultural programme is held in every Year. There is a Vocational stream VIII+ level with two trades. One is Diesel Pumpset Repairing, and another is Rural Electrification.The course for six months duration from January to June and July to December.The total strength for every trade maximum upto 20 students. Thre is ICT computer lab with 10 computers and a projector machine in our school.The students from V to X have to practice in these computers.The students of our school participate in various activities at school level, Block level,Sub-division & Distric level.The school has a wall magazine - "PRABAHA" . Students and teachers write short stories, essay's, poem's,etc in this magazine.The school has no play ground. Due to lack of subject teacher we canot introduce science stream in our school. I shall try to overcome the situation as early as possible.The school has a Library room where in number of 100 students can read easily. Infrastructure of Library room is not adequate. We shall try to overcome the situation also soon. As our school is situated an isolated area, appointed teachers who come out of Sagar Island, do not wish to stay for a longer time. So , the teaching and learning process is frequently hampered in our school. I earnestly request to appoint lokal teachers if possible to avoid this situation.
