

The nineteen century society of Bengal was full of superstition, orthodoxy and almost uneducated. At this time Raja Rammohan Roy, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Ramkrishna Paramhansa Dev, Swami Vivekananda emerged to the Bengal and to illuminate Bengal with the lamp of knowledge. Their influence is revealed in their activities. At the last phase of this century in 1896 devotee of learning named Upendranath Santra of Natuk village came forward, organized and established Natuk Vivekananda Bidyamandir(H.S) in the village Natuk in the Ghatal subdivision belonging to the district of Paschim Medinipur. For the establishment of school, planning was taken by the founder of the school in 1893 during the memorable period of Swamiji’s return to his homeland after winning the world conference and religious in Chicago, USA. This is our absolute monumental pride.
At first the school was English medium school named Middle English School of I-IV standard. The old school was upgraded to a secondary school and got its first recognition on 1948. After that the school gradually upgraded to a higher secondary level with science, arts & commerce department. At present the school is well equipped laboratories for all the lab based subjects.The school also has well equipped multi gym .The result of the school in secondary and higher secondary level from the very beginning is very promising and remarkable. The school in its glorious journey has stepped into 125th years on last second January, 2020. The 125th years old school of this vast area located in a quiet and peaceful environment in the shadow of rural Bengal, among the present and former students, parents and well wisher, is still bright and immortal in its glory. It is wished that the school will move forward on the path of continuous growth and development with the sincere efforts of the intellectuals, educator, well wishers of the area and the board of directors and teachers and staffs.
