School History

Goke High School was established in the year 1984 in the village library with few students and the local people, the  founder teachers Mr. H.P. Moktan, Mr. Dasarath Kharel and Mr. Parasnath Gupta. The organization committee members were the president - Late J.D. Moktan, Secretary- Mr. K.B. Wattar, Cashier- N.P. Pradhan and members late Govind Lama, D.P. Rai, J.B. Pradhan, H.B Dutraj and others.

Mr. Dalusing Lama and late Amber Gurung doneted the land to school. The founder of the school  is Mr. Damber Subba  and doner member of school is Mr. K.B. Wattar till today.

The school was recognized as 4 class junior high school in the year 1988 by the WBBSE Kolkota and school has been upgraded as High school in the year 2011. For the recognization of school  the efforts of Mr. K.B. Wattar Ex-councillor DGHC, Rajya Sabha member Dawa Lama and organization committee are praiseworthy .

The school is under the Darjeeling pulbazar Block, Goke I, Gram Panchyate. It is in a rural area with most of the parents are farmer. School  has been playing the vital role for the social and educational upliftment  of the people of that region.
