NATABARI HIGH SCHOOL (H.S)

Natabari high school is a co-educational school  in Tufanganj Sub division under Coochbehar district. It was founded in the year 1967 in the village of Natabari. During the reign of the great king Nripendra Narayan of coochbehar state Natabari MV school was established in 1905.As per record it is learnt that learning of English began here when Jagaddipendranarayan was the king of the state. The Natabari MV school got its recongnition as state ME School in 1945.

In the year 1951 another school was founded in the western part of the ME school in the name of Natabari Public Jr. high school. According to the planning of the District Elementary Board of Education the ME school was transformed intoNatabari complete basic school on 01.04.1960( Vide memo no – 292 Edn( D), Date 29.01.1960). Initially classes from v to viii began here and class ix  started in 1966, class -x began the next year and the school got its recognition as Natabari High School on 01.01.1967 (vide memo no 7954/D, Date 29.05.1968).Side by side Natabari complete Basic School began its teaching learning process in the same premises.

Natabari complete basic school was transformed into jr High school on 01.01.1967 ( vide memo no 432 Edn (s) Date 12.04.1969) . An order was issued by the Education Department for the amalgamation of  Natabari Jr. High  School  with Natabari high School ( vide memo no 1764 Edn (s), Date 22.08.1969) Finally the amalgamation of Natabari  Jr High  School with Natabari High School came into effect on 26.05.1972 (Vide memo no D.I of school, COB,1030(6) /1-9 (A), Date14.04.1972).

The education loving people of the village came forward with a demand for the upgradation of the school and the high school was transformed into Higher Secondary in the session 1999-2000  vide memo no DF(A)SD/1184/ Recog/99, date 19/08/99. In view of the greater interest of the studentsVocational Courses of class viii+ and x+began in the school in the session 2011-2012.
