History

Thangapara High School is located in the rural area of Dakshin Dinajpur District established in the year 1953. To spread the essence of Education among the villagers few local persons interested in Education came forward for establishing the School and started walking the path taking few no. of wards. There are so many persons but specially and respectfully we commemorate the name of Late Biddeshwar Roy who acted as a pioneer to Educate the wards residing in this area. Gradually the sapling has become a big tree. Now the School is enrolled with about 2300 students and prosper with 56 nos. teaching staff and 5 nos. non-teaching staff. Record of recognition of this Institution by Govt. of WB step by step noted below-

1st recognition as a 2-class Junior High School from 01.01.1957 vide memo no 1194/G DT 24.06.57

As a 4 -class Junior High School from 01.04.1960 vide memo no 700/scls/6R-268s-56 DT 20.06.60

As a High School from 01.01.1963 vide memo no 3389/g DT 13.02.63

As a Higher Secondary School w.e.f. from 1995-95 academic session vide memo no D.S(A)S.D/379/(17)/Recog/95 DT 20.09.95
