History

Among the High Schools of repute of the then Murshidabad , Bahara Adarsha Vidyapith gradually but steadily stood out to the rank of an enviable seat of learning . Our school , as we find her today ventured her mission of disseminating the selfless service of enlightenment dispelling the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance prevailing among the poor and mostly backword masses thereby becoming the scope of higher education in the locality . Dating back to 1954 she debuted her journey as an organized one , later recognized as 2- class(V & VI) school vide memo no                                          dt                                      in the premises of District Primary School Board at Bahara village in the proximity of the bank of a small stream of Mayurakshi with a scanty number of learners inspired by some dedicated and devoted teachers motivated by the dreamer , the architect and the founder of the school , Late Golbadan Trivedi whose contribution to the society people still gratefully remember . For the lack of accomodation in view of the increasing number of pupils within a short period , the school had to be shifted to a nearby thatched house of Late Satish Chandra Trivedi and later to an uninhabited  portion of the mansion subsequently the school got upgraded to 4 - class (V , VI , VII , VIII) vide recognission no                                       dt                                and finally developed to the status of a high and full - fledged multipurpose co-educational Higher Secondary school (both General and Vocational) having her streams of Arts , Science , Commerce and Agriculture vide respective memo nos                                                                                                                   . But to achieve this goal was not an easy task. As the body of students began to grow larger , the need for a suitable and stable location was urgently felt . To fulfill his long cherished desire for alround development of the locality Late G.B. Trivedi strived hard and on the pratronage of the benevolent educationist , Raja Bimal Chandra Sinha of Kandi Rajbati , sufficient land was donated to the Vidyapith Society (NGO) of Bahara , for the Philanthropic activities of educational , medical and cultural opportunities in the area.

Thus the structure of a permanent school building got erected with the financial assistance of the State Government . Apart from its adminintrative and academic wings , 3 hostela, 12 staff quarters      residential set up , seperate Recreation Hall and two ideal playgrounds were also develpoed within the school Campus to raise it to a aprestigious institution.

Free from the madding crowd of urbanting in the vicinity , the school set her pleasant seat amidst the panorama of a vast expense of green cornfields sprawling across the eastern and western horizons and the murmuring Kana Mayurakshi , a rivulet flowing alongside . It offerd an ideally serene and peaceful academic ambience to the teachers and the learners.

Those were the days of golden period when the school premises reverberated with the buzzing of a huge number of pupils not only from di           parts of our district but also from the neighbouring ones and the school can boast of many such brilliant scholars who excelled themselves in their later life in the fields of medicine , engineering administration , academics , art and culture and the games and sports as well . Unfortunately , that glory has diminished and the school was not without tough times . It has survived the onslaughts of natural and socio-political calamities like devastating flood , earthquake , Naxalite movements etc. In spite of that it is hopeful that the spirited group of young teachers of the digital era and the combined efforts of the erudite and experienced senior ones have been functioning for the enhancement of the academic scenario of the school
