History

Joykrishnapur High School (H.S.) is located on Dunigram-Chandpara road in the eastern part of Rampurhat town. The school was founded in 1948, exactly one year after Independence. There was no secondary school in the vicinity at that time. Since the area was a minority belt and the literacy rate was negligible, the social degradation reached an extreme level in the area. The problem was only realized by some educated intellectuals in the village. Abdus Sattar, Dr. Jakaria, Abdul Wahed were among them. The school was completed through their land donation, financial support, and dedicated efforts. More and more educators from the village and outside the village extended their helping hand in this noble cause. The benefits of which are being enjoyed by generation after generation today.
