History

Jahangirpur Surya Sen High School was established on 6th January, in 1969. In last year 2019, the school crossed its half century years. The school is named after famous freedom fighter and revolutionist Master Da Surya Sen. This area, Jahangirpur had been quite backward, at that time few educationists came and with the help of some enthusiastic people, they set up this school. From then on, the school has been performing very well both in academic and sports fields. There is a common room, gym, library, computer room, smart class in our school. The school has done very well in district level sports like athletics, Kho-kho, football etc. In NCC, also, the school has placed a very unique position.The school celebrates Annual function, Sports, Saraswati Puja and other Government Heritage days like Independence Day, Republic Day gorgeously in school premises. There is a Vocational stream like Electric and motor winding, Automobile, Embroidery in our school for the students so that they can prosper and shine in their life. The Government project like Kanyashree, Sikhashree, Sabuj-Sathi, Aikyashree, etc. has been performed by the school brilliantly. In 2015-2016 this school became first in Kanyashree project in block. A scholarship has been providing for the poor students on the Annual Day of the school. Arts in Higher Secondary started in2003.
