History

Named of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, in 1964, the school was set up to ignite the light of knowledge in a backward society through the tireless effort of some educated people. Since its birth, the school has been established with dignity due to the sincere efforts and contribution of the kind people of the area. It started as a II-class junior high school in 1965 and later upgraded to a high school with tenth grade in 1969.

Under the able management of the managing committee, the tireless effort of the refund less and hardworking teacher and non teaching staff, the full co-operation of the education conscious guardians and above all the sincere devotion of the student towards the school has established the institution in a significant seat. Our Vidyaniketan is the result of many efforts of some dreamy people in view the great vow of spreading education in the area. The school, which was set up to show the light of hope in the turbulent national situation of 1964, is determined to make a greater contribution to the field of education today.

In 2012, the school was upgraded to HS level. 13 subjects including since and arts were introduced.

2014 was the 'Golden Jubilee' year of the establishment of this school. The very solemn and stylish two days (11th and 12th February, 2014) program was organized with the overall co-operation of the teacher, students, guardians, managing committee members and well wishers of the area, which attracted the attention of all.
