History

1885:  Establishment of THE DHANKURIA H. E. SCHOOL, founded by SRIJUT  WOOPENDRA NATH SAWOO, ZEMINDAR, DHANKURIA.   Maintained by MESSERS P. G. W. SAWOO, ZEMINDARS & MERCHANTS of DHANKURIA.

1911:  Removed to the present building in the year 1911 A. D.   Opened by THE HON’BLE MR. E. W. COLLIN, I.C.S. (Commissioner of PRESIDENCY DIVISION on 9^th day of February, 1912.

1944:  Recognition up to Class X as DHANYAKURIA HIGH SCHOOL under C.U. vide Memo No- 9540/314, dated-29/12/1944, & w.e.f. 18/12/1944.

1955:  First Grant-in-Aid vide Memo No- 62/63(1)-646, dated- 21/9/1956 & w.e.f. 01/03/1955.

1972:  Grant-in-Aid on the basis of complete deficit vide Memo No- 343Edn(S), dated- 03/03/1973 by Education Department, Secondary Branch, Govt. of W.B. & w.e.f.- 01/05/1972.

1973:  Co-education  vide Memo No- 16/73, dated- 03/12/1973.

1976:  Recognised as XII Class H.S. school vide Memo No- 3623/Recog., Dated- 23/07/1976 & w.e.f. – 01/07/1976.
