History

With the belief that only education can transform a society, a set of energetic and benevolent people of the neighbouring villages established this institution on 22nd January, 1970. Mr Jaladhar Biswas, Mr Amiya Sudha Biswas, Md Akbar Ali Mandal, Mr Satish Biswas are only a few of them worthy to be mentioned. Since its inception, it has been instrumental in developing the neighbourhood to a considerable extent through education and various other activities. It is also one of the the oldest schools of the vicinity. Though the school officially started its journey as a recognised Junior High School on 1st January, 1971 with some 150 students and 6 teachers under the able leadership of Mr Subhash Chandra Majumdar, the then H.M., later on 1st May, 2000 it was upgraded to a madhyamik school and its role strength also saw a considerable hike. Gradually, with the passage of time, both the numbers of students and teachers increased and the 'kaccha' building of the initial days gave way to a new two-storeyd  edifice. Even it touched the milestone of completing 50 years of journey on 21st January, 2020. It is true that like all other schools of the vicinity, this institution also saw a recent fall in role strength, but it still maintains a healthy teacher- student ratio.
