The history of Puratan Bongaon High School (H.S.) dates back to 1960 when it was registered as a private school , ran by the local people of Puratan Bongaon , at Purba Para. In 1962 , the school became a fully Government - aided school & it was shifted to the present location, adjacent to Ramnagar Road. The school started functioning with 2 classes V & VI. In 1968 , the school was considered as a Junior High School ( V-VIII). The school became a high school in the year 2000. A new lease of life was further injected when the school got the approval of becoming the higher secondary school. and it was registered as a H.S. school in 2012 considering only the Art Department. We were happy to launch our Science Department in 2019.
