Banamalipur Priyanath Institution, a prestigious educational institution situated at the heart of Barasat town, stands still with its marvellous achievement of completing 62 glorious years. Started as small, humble, rural school at a tranquil, picturesque village called Banamalipur – inhabited mostly by the refugees – by Late Santosh Kumar Bhattacharya in memory of his philanthropist father Late Priyanath Bhattacharya, the school has steadily flourished into a multidimensional institution over the last six decades. It was founded on 13th March, 1958. Santosh Kumar Bhattacharya was an educationist, great visionary and a person with impeccable generous mind. The tireless effort and contribution of luminaries like Late Keshab Chandra Dutta, Manimohan Malakar, Prafulla Kr. Roychowdhury, Kiran Ch. Ghoshal, K.C. Dhar, Upendranath Kar, Haripada Kar, Sumit Kr. Dutta, Manmathanath Roychowdhury, Ajit Kr. Mitra, Atul Kr. Dutta, Paritosh Dey, Ananda Charan Biswas, Baidyanath Bhattacharya and Chunilal Sarkar will always be remembered with respect and gratitude in the gradual development of this Institution.
