History

There had been a dire necessity of educational institutions exclusively for girls in the vicinity of Baguiati in the post independence era.  By the initiative of a group of individuals, the foundation stone of Chittaranjan Colony Hindu Vidyapith fo Girls was laid.  West Bengal Board of Secondary Education approved this institution for the teaching and learning of Madhyamik curriculum in 7th January, 1967.  The contribution of rrespected Dhirendranth Bhowmik for setting up of this centre of learning has to be acknowledged.  Respected Bhowmik was the first secretary of the Managing Committee of the School.  Respected Professor Amalendu Basu, late Anil Sen were amoung many of those who had taken initiative in this noble venture.
