History

Halisahar Ramprasad Vidyapith was founded as a co educational institution in a new independent India in 1948 with the initiative of some local enthusiasts and dignitaries.The vision was to provide a rich institutional environment for quality education delivery to local boys and girls.The school was recognised as a high school by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education w.e.f.1/1/63.

On 29/7/1999, the school was further upgraded and recognised for H.S.Course with Arts and Science streams by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.Over the years,the school has become one of the major educational institutions in the locality catering to more than 1500 students  as on date.Beyond the normal curricular education delivery,the teachers and the School Management Committee have always taken interest in the all round development of the students.With the help of various Government and non-Government institutions and through donations from local people,administration and guardians adequate infrastructure for sports,cultural,physical and educational activities have been developed.The school also runs a Student Welfare Fund for supporting students in need.The students of classes V to VIII are taught Computer with utmost care and at H.S. level Computer  is offered as an Elective Subject.The boy students of classes VII to IX(Age group-13 to16) can enrol themselves as cadets in the junior division of NCC  troop -HRPV(Troop No.401,under 49 Bengal Battalion Unit, under Kalyani Group,West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate).Each year 100 students of this age group can enrol in NCC which is the greatest youth organisation of the world.The students of HRPV regularly participate in various district/state level competitions/exhibitions  and have been recognised for their performance.

Soon the school is going to start its E Classroom.

H.R.P.V. takes pride in being the alma mater of a number of acclaimed students who are serving nationally and internationally in various capacities across the spectrum of human activities from science and technology to sports and culture.The students of HRPV have always shown high social commitment by getting involved in social activities.

All these have been reflected through excellence in academic performance of HRPV students in Board and Council examinations steadily for the last few decades.
