Pansila Deshbandhunagar Vidyamandir is a  Govt. Sponsored School under Panihati Municipality (India),  located at Makaltala, Pansila, North 24 Parganas.  There was a hospital in the place, where Deshbandhunagar Vidyamandir For Girls is situated in Pansila. The hospital was closed due to lack of funds, patients, doctors, health workers, medical equipments & medicines. At that time introduction of formal education among the socially and financially weaker section of uprooted peoples from East Pakistan was felt in Pansila, North 24 Parganas, Kolkata 700112. Late Amulya Chakraborty,  Late Madhu Roy,  Late Shashanka Ghosal,  Late Manicklal Chakraborty founder Headmaster and other eminent persons came forward for this purpose.  A co-educational school named Pansila Deshbandhunagar Vidyamandir was established on 2nd January, 1957 by demolishing the closed hospital building. The school got the recognition of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education as two class (V & VI) in the season 1957-58. To meet up the demand of girls education a separate girls  school named  Deshbandhunagar Vidyamandir for Girls was opened at the same building after few years. The girls school used to function at morning and boys school used to function at noon. The school got the recognition as High School of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in the year 1968. The school was shifted to the new own building with twelve rooms in the year 1992 in the previously donated space of Unnayan Samiti of Pansila Govt. Colony with the endeovouring of late Swapan Mazumder in the year 1981.  We are grateful to Late Mihir Bask-Donar,  Late Anil Chandra Nag -who used to look after the construction of the school building & general people of Pansila for their active co-operation for the construction of the new building of the present school. The school finally got the recognition as Higher Secondary of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education in the year 1999. The school celebrated her 50 years in the year 2006. Now the school is three storied building. We are also grateful to the different MLAs & MPs for allotting their LADs of the extension of the building of the school. As a result the present school has been converted into Mansion like three stored building. We got ACR for the extension of the building of the school from SSM. We are thanking the different members of the Managing Committees of the different times specially late Sadhan Chandra Sinha-ex Secretary, Late Nakul Chandra Roy- ex President and Subhas Chakraborty- ex Secretary. We are also expressing heartiest gratitude towards  Late Chitta Sen-Ex Chairman, Panihati Municipality,  Charan Chakraborty-Ex Chairman, Panihati Municipality, Late Gopal Chandra Bhattacharjee- Ex MLA, Nirmal Ghosh-Present MLA of Panihati & Chief whif Govt. of West Bengal and Rathin Sen-Social worker, for their innovative advice to run the school smoothly. There are Arts , Science & Commerce stream in our school with modern & useful subjects in H.S section. The H.S section is co-educational. There are 24 rooms and sound teaching & non-teaching staff with Library and computer facilities at now. All the programmes relating to the all round development of the students are observed regularly in the school. The students add themselves in the society for the social activities and formation of the nation after passing out from the school.
