History

Dum Dum Deshbandhu High School was founded in 1968. It was first recognised as a Junior  school. In 2000, it was upgraded to a high school by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.  Since its foundation the school has been opening a vista for quality education to local students who come from a financially poor section of the society. As it is a co-educational school, both girls and boys learn how to coperate each other. Both teachers and parents do well to keep up the ideal ambience of the school. Because of the lack of students, the school has not been nourished well. It is a two-storeyed building with six class rooms, a staff room and an office room. The school has a small space in front of the building. Students maintain a garden there. The SI of schools, Dum Dum New, is the Administrator now as SMC has not been formed by the government. Needless to say, it is a govt. sponsored high school.
