History

Location :Soaluk Azad High School is situated in the midst of a peaceful, serene, green velvet natural surroundings of the agricultural area of Pursurah. It is located between the fertile Bank of two rivers of Hooghly District, West Bengal, the Damodar and the Mundeswari. The site is 12 km north of Pursurah police station(16/20 bus route), 6 km from Takipur Halt Station (Howrah-Arambag Railway) and 12 km from Tarakeswar .

BRIEF HISTORY:   With a view to give shape of Swamiji's comprehensive idea of education the enthusiastic people of the rural area of Soaluk established the school on the auspicious day of 12th January (the birthday of the Great monk Swami Vivekananda)in 1972.The school got its first recognition as a 2 class school (v and vi) on 01.01.1974.It was upgraded as a 4 class junior high school (upto class viii). 4 class junior high school on 03.05.1982

It achieved the recognition of a High School on 01.05.1996.Finally on 19.03.2014 the school was upgraded to H. S with arts and science streams by WBCHSE. Now the school is blooming with 900 students in its small "O" shaped building block.
