History

 Every School must have a history of its own behind its establishment.As the world has been created by God's grace,any School is set up by someone or somebodies' continuous and tireless efforts.Long ago, perhaps in the pre - independent period some people of this Godardihi locality felt the need for education foi the people of this locality.For,they realised that nothing good can be done or achieved without the spread of education.Vivekananda says,"Education is the manifest of the perfection already in man". keeping the great saying ofVivekananda, following Gandhiji's idealism, the people of this Godardihi locality set up a prak buniyadi school,later on converted to a 5 class senior basic school namely Shikdhaniketan Godardihi Sr. Basic School.Later on the Sr.Basic School was converted into a 4 class Jr.High School for the girls only. , sanctioned in G.O.No5996(369)SC/p-II in pursuance of the G.ONo1764Edn(S) dt.22.8.1969. In  course of time, Co1764 -education was introduced in the school as per WBBSE's Memo No728/G dt.22.01.81.

The Jr.High School was upgraded to a x class High School (Co-Ed) vide WBBSE'S Recognition Memo No.S/Recog/2000/1081 dt. 7.2.2001.In 2013, theX classHigh School was converted/Upgraded to a XII Class Higher Secondary School with Arts Stream only vide WBCHSE's Recognition Memo No.DS(Aca)SD/0261/Recog/2013 dt.26.7.2013.Meanwhile Vocational Stream was introduced in the School in January 2010.The School changed its status from Aided to Sponsored in Board's Memo.No.4076/n/SL-153-264/12 dt.30.9.2013.The School came under Salary Deficit Scheme wef 1.05.1972 as per G.O

No.343-Edn(S)dt 3.31973.The School came under Grant -in-Aid Scheme wef1

1.1979as per G.O.No.2684-Edn(S)dt 21.12.1978 Thus the School that started its glorious journey in the pre independent period,first got Recognition in1961 has nowflourished to a full fledged Higher Secondary School -tne small plant of the past is now a full-grown tree with many a flower and fruit and has been running in its full swings with love and blessings of one and all.Gratefully remember those people who first sowed the seeds of education in this locality by establishing this School.
