History

The school started its maiden step in the year 1954 as a 2 class Jr. High School in a 'kancha' building in the remote village of Joypur. People of Joypur and surrounded area came forward to start the school despite adverse socio economic condition. Since then the development of the school is going on in co-ordination with the Managing Committee, Staff and people of all caterories of the locality and with full support of the Govt. of West Bengal. At present the school is widely known as a Higher Secondary school with Arts, Science and Commerce though it was upgraded as a Secondary school in 1966, marked as the year of establishment by the then school authority. In the year 2007 Vocational Education in X+ and VIII+ level was indroduced with the affiliation of WBSCVET. Every year students of both general and voccational stream attain outstanding achievement in academic and professional arena. Another project NSQF (Pilot Project) was introduced in the year 2013 jointly approved by general and vocational education department of the Govt. of West Bengal and Govt. of India. Two subjects namely IT and ATMV  under NSQF are taught from class IX to XII i.e. Level-1 to Level-4. The school has crossed the glorious 50 years in the year 2016 and the Golden Jubilee celebration was observed with due dignity and enthusiasm. Existing and ex students, staff, guardian, Managing Committee, Govt. officials, Educationist and all people of the locality attended the programme and made it a grand success. It deserved mention that in the year 2017 one student of our school Tathagata Mukherjee secured the 10th position in the merit list of MP (SE) under WBBSE. With its glorious past and shining present we hope for the brightest future of the school.
