History

Far away from the town, Matabel  is an interior village under Kustore Gram Panchayat of Mejia Police Station under Bankura District. The village was totally away from education and culture. Most of the villagers were illiterate. Few advanced people of the village and adjoining villages had decided to set up a school to spread ray of education among the children of ther village. Accordingly a kind hearted and generous villager Late Sri Mathur Ghosh donated the land for school building. Another two noble men Sri Kamakhya Charan Mondal and Late Sri Monoranjan Karmakar started an organised school with their voluntary services. The village is all surrounded by agricultural land. A stream is flowing besides the village. The total area is full of natural beauty. As a results it is very favourable environment to teach the little kids. The school was affiliated by the GOVT. OF WEST BENGAL on 2nd february 1971. Till now the students having being taught in this school are established in their own field. Teachers of this school have been trying heartily to lit the light of knowledge among the students.
