History

Education for Lief is a system that prepares the child to face the challange of living as a human beings and help him to acheive balace and harmony in all respect. To keep in mind the villagers of Sonamui were felt enthusiasm to built an educational institution which must placed for away from the contamination of town life so that students can be voracious easily. At last their dream became true by rendering to establish the school in the amid of Sonamui  village in 1929 Dated 22nd February (Bengali 09th Falgun , 1335).

This program couldn't be done so easily. In the begining it might face challange near by village school though it was healthy competition. In that time there were so many problems economic, illiteracy, superstition and so on but villagers courage carried through all difficulties. BIBI BASANTA KUMARI DEVI (Wife of Land Lord, one of the Nahar family) came forward and raised her hand by donating land premises for the school and the whole villagers got together gave their blood and sweat, above all the local interested persons in educations involve to this Yeoman's service. In this way the school building was set up in the year 1929 namely SONAMUI FATEH SINGH NAHAR  HIGH SCHOOL. Which was recognised by W.B.B.S.E. from 01.01.1954.
