Pancharul Srihari Vidyamandir was established by Late Satish Chandra Samanta, a great social worker and business man of village Pancharul of Udaynarayanpur Block of Howrah District,on 2nd.February,in the year 1949.Then Pancharul was a very backward village.There was no educational institution in the area.He felt the need of an educational institution and established Pancharul Srihari Vidyamandir at a few rooms at Jagannathtala of Pancharul.Gradually no. of students began to increase.Arrangement of more rooms became necessary.In the year 1951 Satishbabu donated 41 sataks of land in favour of the school. Satishbabu began building the new building of the school on the donated land.The school was shifted from Jagannathtala to its new building in the year 1954.In the year 1953-54 the school came under the 'Salary Defecit Scheme' of the Government of West Bengal.The School was upgraded to Madhyamik School in the year 1953.The School got permission for Arts and Science Stream in the year 1957.Co-Education started in the year 1961.The school was upgraded to H.S. in the year 1988 with permission to run Science & Arts Stream.Vocational Stream started in the school in August-2010.It became a sponsored institution in the year 2014. Free computer education (V-X) started in the year 2018.For physical exercise of the students the school started a Gymnasium in the year 2018. Supply of safe and purified drinking water for each and every student started in the year 2018.Now the school is equipped with a very beautiful building, though old, a beautiful flower garden, a kitchen garden, nine laboratories, one physical education room, one Gymnasium, a large library, a large playground, a good stage, two vocational work-shops and much more. The present school authority is also trying to upgrade the school with the financial help of the Founder Family.Since the inception of the school many famous personalities like Jigmie Dorji, the Ex-Prime Minister of Bhutan, Prafulla Chandra Sen, the Ex-Chief Minister of Bengal, J.C.Majumdar,Ex-D.M., Howrah,M.G.Kutty,Ex-A.D.M., Howrah, M.N.Chowdhury,Ex-D.M., Howrah, H.N.Nandi, Ex-Director of Agriculture,Govt.of West Bengal, B.K.Dutta Gupta, Ex-Chief Inspector of Physical Education & Youth Welfare Officer,West Bengal,R.Ghosh,Ex-Secretary, Agriculture,Govt.of West Bengal  and many more , have visited the school. The school has got appreciation from all of them.
