                                                                   HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

“Education is the backbone of a Nation”

Nearly 61 years back boys and girls had to walk for an hour to attend school at nearby villages for higher education.Livelyhood of this locality was mainly farming for which it was believed that no education is required. So it was believed to be no need of high school in the locality although ther is a library ( not in the true sense of the term) and a primary school in the village and villagers did not get any interest in high school as they had to stop education after primary education. This situation worried Kunja Behari Bayen,Ashutosh Pramanick and many others who took much pain to establish High School. However, defying every obstacles they started a  School  in the year 1959 with only two classes(V&VI) in a hut where a library was run. They had to visit door to door to collect students. And within few years students began to increase and need for more space was felt.As a result the School was shifted to nearby Primary School, Kiransashi Siksha Mandir, where primary school was run in the morning shift. In this ups and downs of glorious past, they decided to establish a building of its own. They themselves made bricks with their own labour and led the foundation stone of present School Building with one brick walled tiles thetched room and a office room without any toilet or drinking water facilities. In Rains rain trickled down in the class room but the students and teachers fought for its existance and finally it was affiliated  as Govt. Aided school in 1962 and with the help of the villagers more rooms were constructed and in 1980 it was uplifted to Secondary School and in 2008 it was  converted to Higher Secondary School. At present  our School is a Govt. Sponsored Coeducational Higher Secondary School with Vocational Stream for the students of class IX –XII.
