The school was a dream of the people of Shyamsundar Chak , Santoshpur , Howrah .Realising the importance of education for their children the villagers established Shyamsundar Balika Vidyalaya (High) in 1969. At that the teachers used to provide free service or little honorium as the school did not get the proper Govt. recognition . In 1980 W.B.B.S.E gave the school its first recognition. In 2005 the school is finally upgraded to the High School . Now the staffs of S.B.V have to dream to upgrade the school into Higher Secondary.
