History

  The school was first set up in the name of Shree Shree Thakur of Sonamukhi as 'Haranath Free Night Pathsala' by the members of Haranath Siksha Sangha on 6th December,1923 in a hird building at 11, Neogi Ghat Street, Baghbazar, kolkata . Thereafter, Haranath High School was established in 1930 on 6 Kottahs of calcutta corporation leased land at 78, Baghbazar Street, calcutta 700003, ward no. 7 , by Shri Bhagbat Chandra Mitra with donations form generons public. The first Headmaster of the school was Shri Aswini Kumar Ghose. The school was first affiliated to the University of Calcutta in 1937 and was recognised by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1953.
