Blessed with an extra-ordinary conveniece of location today, the school is accesible by all conceivable means of land transport systems available in the city.
The seeds of foundation of the school was sown in October 1950 by the combined efforts of stalwarts and educationists likr Shri Murlidhar Shukla, Shri Lalita Prasad Tripathi,Shri Ram Janam Tiwari, Shri Tarapati Upadhyay,Shri Jagdish Tiwari, Shri Ram Kumar Bhuwalka, Sri Bhagwandas Harlalka and many others under the umbrella of Adarsh Hindi High School Trust.
Their joint efforts, based on conviction of providing quality education in Hindi Medium to the Hindi speaking children of the locality,made it possible to start the school on 04th January 1951 in a rented building which is presently Tollygunge Adarsh Vidyapith. The school started functioning in the present building at 37, Desh Pran Sasmal Road since 1952 under the able guidance of Shri Lalita Prasad Tripathi as Headmaster.
The School received recognition as Class-X school in 1951 itself by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. The recognition was made perpetual as Class XI (erstwhile Higher Secondary System) in 1964.The School came under Grantsd-in Aid in 1977 and with the change of Education policy it was recognised as 10+2 School with permission to teach in Lab-based and Non-Lab based subjects.The school with its existing staff started the Higher Secondary classes with Science and Commerce Subjects.
The School is now a Government Sponsored Higher Secondary School providing quality education in Hindi medium to not only students of the locality but also to students spanning from Budge-Budge in the Far West to Narendrapur and Sonarpur in the far east as it happens to be the only Hindi Medium Government Sponsored School for Boys in South Kolkata which is recognised by both WBBSE & WBCHSE.
